How do I get from the airport to Dublin?

The easiest way to simply take a taxi, typically €20-€35 and about 25 minutes.

There is also a bus available, but it doesn't have much space for luggage.

How do I get to and from the retreat from Dublin?

The easiest way is to reserve a seat on the bus that The Way has chartered for $50 per person each way. 

Uber will be very expensive, well over €100

You can also rent a car for about €40-€60 per day and €200 -€300 per week.

Do I need a visa to visit Ireland?

Not if you’re from UK, the USA, or a Schengen country.

All others should check and see. 

What is the typical weather at the time of year we will be in Ireland?

Autumn weather in Ireland can be:

Cool (45–60°F / 7–15°C)

Rainy — sometimes suddenly

Are meals included?

Yes, all meals are included from Wednesday dinner through Sunday breakfast.

Is alcohol available?

Are you kidding? It's Ireland.

What is the local currency?

Euro €, currently at 1.18 to 1 US dollar

Is it safe to travel alone in Ireland?

Yes–it's generally very safe.

How much downtime is there?

There is plenty of downtime, 5+ hours per day.

Will there be communication between group registrants?

Yes, a WhatsApp group will be established as we get closer to the retreat date.

If we want to arrive early or stay late, is there a recommended hotel?

What time will we be back from the retreat on Sunday?

On Sunday after church, the buses will leave Glendalough for Dublin at about 1:00 p.m. and be in Dublin by 3:00 p.m. The buses will drop everyone off at the Clayton Hotel.

Is the "Tour of Ireland" happening?

Yes! We have a great group coming. Feel free to join the group or invite friends. There's plenty of space for more! Go to the Tour Info & Registration page for more details.

Does this conference have accessibility? Are there any physical requirements?

The Glendalough Hotel provides facilities to accommodate guests with mobility needs, including a stair-free, well-lit entrance and newly renovated accessible rooms with roll-in showers, raised toilets, and adapted baths. One of the highlights of this spiritual retreat is the opportunity to spend time in nature. We recommend bringing walking shoes to enjoy the strolls and hikes available in this beautiful setting.

Is it possible to book an additional night at the hotel either before or after the retreat?

Yes! Please email [email protected] with the dates you would like to stay. Our team will coordinate with the hotel to ensure room continuity. Please note that any additional nights must be paid directly to the hotel.

Will any refunds be available?

There will not be any refunds of "Non-Refundable" deposits. Should you have to cancel after registering for the retreat (and by Agust 30th), any amounts you paid will be refunded with the exception of $300 non-refundable deposit fee(s). The final cancellation date for the Irish Tour is June 30th. All deposits/payments can be refunded as long as you cancel prior to June 30th.

Is travel insurance necessary?

It is hightly recommended. For those participating in the Irish Tour: the tour company does require that all the passengers have travel insurance. The tour company does not sell travel insurance: they recommend Travel Guard. Your insrance should cover the total tour cost, including flight disruption/cancellation, personal injury, and medical expenses.
